Description General Description: The Senior Officer, of Communications, Grants, and Advocacy plays a multifaceted and strategic role, by managing grant writing, donor communications, website and digital content and advocacy messaging. This is a highly collaborative role for a skilled and compassionate communicator who is committed to ending homelessness. Grant Writing (40%) Goal:

Secure and steward funding from foundations, government entities, and other institutional donors. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Identify, research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and reports. Maintain a grants calendar and ensure timely submissions and compliance. Collaborate with program and finance teams to align budgets, outcomes, narratives and future needs. Build and maintain relationships with grant makers and institutional funders. Track metrics and compile data in collaboration with the MCCH compliance team to demonstrate impact and need and update website with relevant content. Oversee grant status, awards, and reporting in a CRM or grants database. Coordinate meetings with funders and site visits. Communications and Website Management (40%) Goal:

Build awareness, engage stakeholders, and shape the public narrative around the mission and vision of MCCH. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic communication plans (internal and external). Manage brand identity, messaging, and tone across platforms. Develop website, newsletters, social media, and press releases. Create content (impact stories, annual reports, blog posts, etc.). Support CEO with talking points and drafting speeches Provide timely board and stakeholder updates. Handle crisis communications and media relations by preparing statements that are reviewed by the Director of Development and prepared for the CEO. Develop and edit e-newsletters, donor updates, client success stories, and press releases. Update and edit website content. Create engaging content for social media channels such as YouTube, FaceBook, X, and Instagram Ensure brand consistency across all communication platforms. Advocacy (20%) Goal:

Influence public policy, funding, and systems to align with MCCH’s mission. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute advocacy strategies at the local, state, and national level with guidance from the Director of Development and CEO. Build partnerships with aligned organizations and policymakers. Prepare policy briefs, action alerts, position statements, and legislative testimony. Represent the organization in advocacy coalitions and public forums. Engage clients and community members in advocacy campaigns (storytelling, mobilization) Lead community education events and advocacy days. Cross-Cutting Responsibilities Align messaging across fundraising, advocacy, and program teams. Track and report on communications and advocacy outcomes. Stay current on sector trends, funding landscapes, and policy shifts. Uphold MCCH’s values of equity, transparency, and mission alignment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills,

with demonstrated experience crafting compelling content for both grant proposals and public-facing communications. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience

in the nonprofit sector, with increasing responsibility in communications, fundraising, or advocacy. Highly organized and detail-oriented,

with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously. Strong relationship-building skills;

able to establish trust and rapport with individuals, communities, policymakers, and cross-sector partners. Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders,

including government officials, funders, community leaders, and peer organizations. Self-motivated and mission-driven,

thriving in collaborative, fast-paced environments with minimal supervision. Proficiency in digital tools,

including website content management systems, social media platforms, and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact). Experience working with

CRM or donor management systems

(e.g., Salesforce, Little Green Light) to track engagement and fundraising activities. Graphic design and visual storytelling skills

are a plus (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). Lived experience of homelessness or housing instability

is welcomed and valued. Strong knowledge of or demonstrated commitment to

homelessness and housing justice issues

is preferred.
