Responsible for obtaining and tracking authorization for all patients for whom their insurance requires pre-authorization. This position requires multi-tasking, computer skills, good oral and written communication and customer service etiquette. Function as a part of the team and keep everyone apprised of the authorization situation. Responsible for Agency's ability to bill and be paid for visits made by the field staff. Answer telephones and provide excellent customer service to our professional staff and insurance representatives Run and utilize computer reports regularly Provide accurate, complete updates to Agency management on status of authorizations for all patients requiring treatment authorization Obtain and track authorization for all patients for whom their insurance requires pre-authorization Clearly document all authorization requests Communicate with multiple disciplines Notify Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutions Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Excellent phone and customer service skills Successful completion of LPN program Possess current professional license in good standing and maintains Experience in dealing with insurance companies Computer skills to include word, data entry Must follow written and verbal instructions Must pay attention to detail Use computer programs effectively Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
