Distribution Line Coordinator

Responsible for coordinating all resource requirements associated with the distribution line and telecommunications components in the applicable work plan. Ensure all work order packages are designed to specifications and delivered on time within the budget. Responsible for interfacing with contracting firms and all departments associated with distribution design. Coordinate activities associated with pre-design meetings, on-boarding, customer concerns, storm assessment resource tracking, and billing. The successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate at their own expense to a 45-minute report time to the Kingsport SC, 420 Riverport Road, Kingsport, TN, 37660 or The Glade Springs SC 13563 Owens Drive, Glade Spring, VA, 24340. What You'll Do: With limited assistance, ensure work order design meets minimum specifications outlined in the AEP Distribution Standards Manual along with associated work order documents. Attend/Coordinate pre-design meetings with contracting firm, PMO, engineering, R/W, forestry and line. Provide detailed AEP software training for contractors such as DDS, Smart Sheet, Storms, etc. Review contractors work order packages for accurate accounting, material, and required forms. Coordinate r/w easement, permit application processes between right of way agents and contractors. Monitor and review contractor billing. Assist with any issues between construction and engineering contractors. Assist with customer related concerns/complaints. Assist with storm assessment contract resource training, billing, and coordination. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET accredited preferred), Business Administration, Construction Management, or equivalent education with 3 years of related experience OR associate's degree in electrical/electronic technology or related technical degree and 5 years' experience in design and/or construction of distribution facilities, OR Minimum of 7 years' experience in design and/or construction of distribution facilities without a degree. Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. Other Must Haves: Physical demand: ability to walk to remote locations in dense fauna and traverse inclines. Travel requirement expected: > 50% of the time. Ability to handle multiple distribution projects of variable complexity. On-site at the Kingsport Service Center or Glade Spring Service Center.
