Job Description
Performs system troubleshooting and system design for radio and wireless communications systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Adjust controls and test systems using specified equipment; run diagnostic checks. Troubleshoot customer concerns and resolve issues with their communications systems in the field and in the shop. Install, repair, and maintain equipment based on testing results; coordinate repairs with customers and vendors to ensure resolution. Assist with quotes and bids to determine customer needs. Maintain operation of complex radio systems and 911 communications centers. Perform system programming following industry practices. Complete installation of radio and wireless mobile and base communication systems. Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of wireless communication systems, electronic and RF principles, and NetSuite operations. Ability to work independently on complex radio systems. Strong troubleshooting skills and basic system design capabilities. Proficiency in repairing and maintaining complex radio systems and 911 communication centers, including knowledge of infrastructure components like repeaters, mobiles, portables, and signaling equipment; familiar with industry-standard test equipment. Education and Experience
Five to seven years of experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems; capable of using computers for programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs. Associate degree or equivalent in electronics and wireless system repair preferred but not required. Experience with diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and programming of wireless communication equipment such as 2-way radios, transmitters, receivers, and antennas. Knowledge of dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, trunked radio systems, radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF theory as applied to wireless communications. Licenses and Certifications
Industry license (FCC, FICA, or NARTE), valid drivers license, insurability in the state of employment, and CET or NABER certification are required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
