AutoZones UX Research Manager will have a passion to understand the why behind the behaviors and attitudes of our customers and AutoZone employees. The Manager of UX Research is a thought-leader, driving AutoZones strategic and tactical UX Research roadmap to support design and product teams across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

Oversee the triangulation of UX Research findings with analytics and marketing data to make data-driven design and product recommendations across the enterprise for retail, commercial, and store systems teams Prioritize the research roadmap in support of omnichannel experience strategies Guide the UX Research team to deliver a mix of strategic and tactical insights, in support AutoZones customer and employee-facing digital products Contribute to strategic and executional research projects, including independent research contributions Provide insights that lead AutoZones design, product, and engineering to successfully deliver features and improvements that drive conversion, revenue, and retention Manage the hiring and training of internal UX Researchers and digital research-adjacent vendors Deliver results that influence the decisions of leadership and enterprise stakeholders Set research protocols, manage processes, documentation, and repositories, and provide guidance to more junior UX professionals.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate degree preferred in psychology, sociology, anthropology, human factors, cognitive science, computer science, human-computer interaction (HCI), related field or four years equivalent experience 7+ conducting end-to-end user research for software or web-based products or equivalent experience Experience managing research teams Experience with eCommerce Experience with tools for usability testing and gathering in-product feedback, such as Qualtrics, Adobe Analytics, dscout and/or UserTesting. Must have experience communicating with product owners, business stakeholders, SEO, and Analytics.

Functional Competencies

Extensive thought leadership on mixed-methods user experience research methods and strategies. Familiarity with all common quantitative and qualitative research methods including, in-product listening, intercept surveys, usability testing, information architecture testing, click tests, user journey maps, personas, ethnographic studies, field observations, heuristic analysis, user interviews, focus groups, A/B testing, etc. Must be able to successfully manage multiple strategic research initiatives spanning B2C, B2B, and employee end-to-end to identify user experience insights and prioritize opportunities to create an overarching UX Research roadmap. Must be able to independently perform all research related tasks in the research project lifecycle when needed: create research plan, create a testing plan, write a screener, create a survey, recruit, schedule and moderate tests and user interviews, produce both top-line results and research findings results, and effectively present and share results. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with both users and stakeholders to build trust and rapport, gather quality insights, and deliver timely, actionable insights. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex findings into concise and actionable recommendations for a variety of stakeholders. Must have excellent time, people, and project management skills Must be highly adaptable and have a continuous learning mindset with a curiosity and desire to expand understanding of users, stakeholders, and research tools.
