This individual will be responsible for implementing all communications activities in these states, requiring strong media relations and project management skills to meet deadlines and achieve objectives. Collaborate with teams to craft compliant communication materials and work with digital teams to maximize impact. Travel to state chapters for media engagements, background meetings, and events. Identify and develop media opportunities in traditional and non-traditional venues. Build relationships with media in states to promote policy issues. Advise on paid media opportunities, including scripts for TV and radio. Create rapid-response materials, backgrounders, and circulate media narratives. Draft messaging for various materials such as landing pages, emails, press releases, and blog posts. Pitch media stories, organize media attendance at events, and secure interviews. Coordinate with internal teams to leverage resources for campaigns. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in media relations and strategic communications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex policies. Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Collaborative work ethic with diverse stakeholders. On-the-record experience required. Experience in agency, congressional, executive branch, or political campaigns is a plus.
