Location: Marietta, GA What You Will Be Doing The Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) Author Level 1 will play a critical role in developing and maintaining accurate and user-friendly technical documentation to support the C-130 platform. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to build expertise in aircraft technical publications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in engineering, logistics, supportability, and manufacturing. The IPB Author will primarily focus on creating Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs) using industry standards such as S1000D and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) to ensure maintainers and operators have the information they need to keep missions moving. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about supporting aerospace operations through technical accuracy and innovation. Key Responsibilities Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of technical manuals, with a primary focus on Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs). Utilize S1000D standards and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) to produce accurate and user-friendly documentation. Collaborate with engineering, supportability, logistics, and manufacturing teams to ensure all technical content is correct, compliant, and up to date. Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance procedures to accurately identify parts and assemblies. Support the documentation of new and updated aircraft components to ensure technical manuals reflect current configurations. Assist in verifying and validating technical content for accuracy and completeness before publication. Respond to feedback from maintainers and engineers to improve clarity and usability of IPBs. Maintain proper documentation records and revisions in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Marietta, GA This position is in Marietta, GA Discover Marietta. Basic Qualifications Prior hands-on or academic C-130 aircraft experience (maintenance, modification, or publications support). Experience managing multiple tasks. Experience reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and drawings. Desired Skills Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent education/experience). Familiarity with technical publication standards (S1000D, IETM, IPB). Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Windchill, or similar tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks. Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
