Sr. Brand Communications Manager
Wage : DOE
Shift : Full time. Generally, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Regular early morning, late evening, and weekend shifts required.

Summary
The Sr. Brand Communications Manager is a PR leader, writer and storyteller responsible for shaping and sharing Thanksgiving Point's voice with the world. This role oversees internal and external communications, brand messaging, media relations, and storytelling strategies that elevate Thanksgiving Point's reputation and deepen connections with diverse audiences. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, service-oriented, creative, and results-driven communicator who thrives on building meaningful narratives that inspire guest engagement.
This position has high public visibility, coordinates closely with the internal marketing and signature experiences team and serves as both the voice and face of the brand. Reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities Write and create content including press releases, web and social media content, email communications, event/program descriptions, video, fact sheets/press materials, and other important items. Lead, mentor, and oversee the Social Media Specialist to ensure digital storytelling and social engagement align with overall brand strategy. Foster clear, engaging communication across departments and staff to strengthen culture and alignment, helping other departments reach their goals. Gather and edit important internal communication and share via monthly email and other channels to keep staff informed and inspired. Develop and execute a strategic communications plan in support of organizational objectives to build brand awareness and promote Thanksgiving Point's mission, venues, and events in a consistent and professional manner. Coordinate meetings, email, and other communications to create official copy and details of promotions, events, and offerings. Exemplify Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values, and Policies in all messaging and representation. Oversee media outreach, press releases, and proactive storytelling. Cultivate positive relationships with journalists, influencers, community partners, and internal partners to expand visibility and strengthen alignment. Represent Thanksgiving Point in interviews and community forums when appropriate. Ensure messaging highlights the unique experiences at Thanksgiving Point and advances our role as a joyful gathering place for families and a hub for STEM and cultural learning. Prepare timely, brand-aligned responses to sensitive situations, managing crisis communications to protect the organization's reputation. Other duties as assigned. Requirements
Proven creative and business writing skills including experience developing, editing, and publishing content. Excellent verbal presentation skills with command of the English language. Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of professional experience in communications, PR, or journalism, preferably within nonprofit, cultural institutions, or tourism. High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure and time constraints. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with ability to establish priorities, stay on schedule, and meet deadlines. Proven success in media relations and crisis communications, with knowledge of local media and contacts within the industry. Experience leading a direct report or small team with demonstrated mentorship and leadership skills. Creative, positive, and solutions-oriented; flexible and adaptable with a sense of humor. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must pass a background check.
