JOB SUMMARY

This is a unique position in the wallcovering industry to create color separations that will be engraved and printed on various production presses. This role requires the capturing of the original technique of the art while adhering to specifications of each press for optimal production results. (Color separation is the process of isolating the individual spot colors within a design so that it can be accurately reproduced in print.)

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Utilize computer software (Photoshop or AVA) to create color separations of wallpaper designs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of technical specifications by print type and ensure all files meet those specifications.
  • Perform file and data processing - Digital Asset Management system (DAM), Digital Docket (DSS), SAP and Smartsheet.
  • Assist with file management; set up separated files into AVA format. Post files to the DAM and send notification to Creative Designer.
  • Maintain weekly WIP to manage workflow and priorities with Engraving Supervisor. Work with Residential and Commercial department teams to manage priorities for all business segments based on the project schedule and customer needs.
  • Maintain efficient workflow at all steps of color separation development process so files are correct and ready to engrave prior to the release of engrave due date.
  • Provide backup and support with administrative duties to the Engraving Supervisor.
  • Ability to collaborate and interpret direction from Creative Designers.
  • Other duties as assigned as assigned by management.
Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Associates or 4-year degree in art related field preferred
  • 2+ years of design color separation experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Analog or digital printing knowledge preferred
  • Artistic / creative skills
  • Pattern design, step and repeat, file separation experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive team player and demonstrated ability to carry out assignments independently
