Marketing & Communications Coordinator (Onsite Position in Fort Collins, CO)

This is a contract to hire position.

Overview

Join a small, community-focused team to plan and produce promotions that get people through doors. This role blends campaign coordination, content production, and light social/video supportwith a steady stream of printed collateral.

What youll do

  • Campaign coordination: Help scope seasonal promotions, build timelines, traffic requests, track budgets, and keep vendors/printers on schedule.
  • Content & collateral production: Produce event and business-support materials (e.g., window clings, posters, tickets, handouts) and export companion assets for web/newsletters. (Illustrator proficiency for print-ready files is important.)
  • Social & short-form video support: Capture simple phone video on site; trim, caption, and hand off for publishing. Team will train on voice, formats, and cadence.
  • Channel management assist: Update basic website content, assemble email/newsletter content, and prepare social story/post packages aligned to campaigns.
  • Stakeholder communications: Partner with internal staff and local businesses, gather needs and approvals, and route copy/design to the Marketing Director for final sign-off.
  • General marketing ops: Maintain asset libraries, organize vendor quotes, track inventory of printed pieces, and support distributions and event set-ups.

Youre a good match if you

  • Enjoy mixing coordination with hands-on content creation and can keep multiple projects moving at once.
  • Are comfortable producing clear, on-brand materials and learning new social/video workflows with coaching.
  • Communicate well with business owners and teammates, and youre dependable for deadlines and details.
  • Dont mind pitching in at activations and occasionally working nonstandard hours when campaigns go live.

Must-have skills

  • Adobe Illustrator proficiency for creating and packaging print-ready files (bleeds, color, exports).
  • Strong layout/typography fundamentals and careful proofing.
  • Basic CMS/email tool familiarity and file prep for web/social.
  • Solid organization, task tracking, and follow-through.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience coordinating with printers and outside creatives.
  • Comfort with social scheduling tools and basic motion/captioning on mobile.
  • Light reporting on campaign performance (helpful but not the focus).

Work setup & schedule

  • Onsite, full time in a shared office with a Business Support Coordinator.
  • Standard business hours with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Ability to lift/move up to ~25 lbs (boxes of collateral, signage).

Background

  • Several pathways work: comparable hands-on experience in marketing/communications or a related degree with practical production work.
  • Experience supporting public-facing programs, events, or small-business communities is a plus.
