HGA is seeking an
E&I Designer
to support operations with a manufacturing client located in Bayport, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site field verification of electrical and instrumentation installations, including cable trays, conduit runs, junction boxes, panels, instruments, and control systems Compare field conditions against existing design drawings and identify discrepancies Update and revise as-built drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other CAD software Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to resolve design issues and ensure alignment with project goals Document field changes and maintain accurate records of modifications Ensure compliance with NEC, ISA, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards Participate in walkdowns, punch list development, and commissioning support as needed. Maintain drawing and documentation control in accordance with company procedures Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in E&I design, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD platforms Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and components Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and layout drawings Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Willingness to travel to field sites as required Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Design, Instrumentation, or related field Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SmartPlant, Navisworks) Experience with DCS systems, including Infini 90, Rockwell Automation PlantPAX, and Emerson DeltaV Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Meridian) Knowledge of hazardous area classification and instrumentation in process environments
