WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE:

The Junior Design Coordinator supports the growing Nina Trim wholesale division and the VP of Design, providing organizational, sales, and project support within Product Development. This role assists with customized trim requests, digital illustration/pattern templates, and sampling tool coordination, working closely with the Visual Designer on books, memos, and ring sets. The coordinator helps track pattern and color trials with vendors, updates digital sample tools for the sales team, and ensures new pattern specifications are documented accurately. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to keep projects on track and support smooth design and production processes.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the supervision of the VP of Design, the Jr. Designer will assist in the development of new collection
  • Support the VP of Design in the development of new and custom trim programs
  • Create customizable pattern templates for trims, using digital renderings and illustrations for internal and client presentations
  • Support pattern and color trials with vendors, ensuring accurate records and approvals
  • Update digital sample tools to support the sales team, ensuring they reflect current patterns, colors, and customization options
  • Coordinate with the Sample Department, Purchasing, and vendors to help track orders and production details
  • Proof production information for accuracy and completeness
  • Contribute to the development of sampling tools and presentation materials
  • Maintain organized project files and timelines, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Support cross-functional communication, ensuring design intent and project updates are clearly shared with internal teams and external partners
  • Assist in documenting and updating new pattern specification information, ensuring all design and production details are accurate and accessible
  • Cross-team collaboration: Work efficiently with the various departments and showrooms including but not limited to Creative/Marketing, Sampling, and Purchasing
  • All other duties as assigned by the VP of Design

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a full-time, remote role, preferably in MA or RI with occasional flexibility required to support vendor communication across time zones.

Requirements:

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in textiles, design, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of related experience in product development, project coordination, or design within textiles, interiors, or a related industry
  • Strong skills in graphic design and digital illustration
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
  • Knowledge of textiles, color, and design processes preferred
  • Collaborative, flexible, and eager to support both creative and logistical aspects of product development
