Job Summary/Description:

KTIV is seeking a Weekend Anchor / MMJ to join our newscasts. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator both on-air and online, serving as the newsroom leader on weekends. They must have a positive attitude and collaborate well with others, maintaining good relationships with assignment desk staff and field reporters. A conversational and engaging on-air presence is essential. The role involves working three weekdays as an MMJ, producing and anchoring weekend newscasts, and updating the station website and social media platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and executing unique daily content in collaboration with newsroom management.
  • Being creative, energetic, competitive, and a problem-solver with strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrating compelling storytelling, photography, and videography skills that go beyond press releases.
  • Quickly confirming and disseminating rapidly developing stories on air and online.
  • Delivering strong on-air presentation and maintaining a clear speaking voice.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills, news judgment, and ethics.
  • Degree in Journalism or Communications.
  • Driven to develop organic news content.
  • Understanding of digital and new media platforms and strategies.
  • Effective delivery of content during live broadcasts.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, leadership qualities, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Integrity, accountability, and teamwork.
