Responsibilities
The Adjunct Instructor of Visual Communication is responsible for teaching courses in visual communications, including digital media production, graphic design, and social media in the Department of Rhetoric & Communication Studies. The candidate will employ innovative modalities for delivering course content. The Adjunct Instructor is expected to maintain current knowledge and skills related to visual communication to update and enrich the Department curriculum. The instructor will represent the University and the Department professionally with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders. Teaching assignments are available each semester on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
- Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts in visual arts, media arts, communication, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of related research and work experience required; portfolio of professional and/or artistic work requested.
- Expertise in industry-standard computer software and digital design tools.
- Preferred collegiate teaching experience.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks timely.
- Excellent communication skills for working with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to the role of communications in a liberal arts setting.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
