Hiring Salary Range: $52,000 - $55,000 per year

About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. With an annual operating budget of $20 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub, Maricopa County's family coordinated entry system.
Position Description: The Junior Content Creator supports the development and execution of engaging content across digital and print platforms for the organization. This entry-level role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for storytelling, social media, and visual communication who is eager to grow in a mission-driven environment.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time, on-site, with occasional nights and weekends, to support the needs of the position and the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in creating compelling content for social media, email campaigns, blogs, print collateral, and the UMOM website.
- Support video and photo production, including filming, editing, and organizing media assets.
- Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and track performance metrics.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all communications.
- Conduct interviews and gather stories from clients, volunteers, and staff to highlight UMOM's impact.
- Assist with internal communications and event promotion materials.
- Stay up to date with digital trends and recommend new content ideas.
Qualifications And Competency Requirements
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor's degree, strongly preferred, in a related field such as Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design or Media Studies.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a content creation, Marketing, or communications role; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 0-2 years of experience (internships count).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations is preferred
- Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, X/Twitter, TikTok, etc.)
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite. CapCut, or similar).
- Experience with content management systems (e.g. SquareSpace) is a plus.
- Photography or videography experience a bonus.
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to clear the Central Registry Screening from the Department of Child Safety & Adult Protective Services.
- Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested
- Valid AZ Driver's License and a driving record that falls within UMOM's policy
- 50/100 level of car insurance coverage.
