The New York Post provides readers with the best in News, Sports, Pop Culture and Entertainment – with signature wit, irreverence and authority averaging 90 million unique viewers a month. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.

The New York Post is seeking an experienced **Lifestyle Editor** to manage a team of reporters and editors writing across our lifestyle verticals, including sex & relationships, fashion, parenting, travel, food & drink, science & technology and general interest. The successful candidate will be able to guide a team in producing both exclusive features and quick-turnaround news hits — often rooted in NYC but always appealing to our national audience. You will be experienced in mining social media and competitive news sources for the best leads. You will also know how to turn online and real-life chatter into stories that give depth to the Post’s lifestyle section and put it ahead of the trends.

The lifestyle editor must balance digital and print deadlines and have a keen understanding of how to make a story sing across all of our platforms. This role will report to the Head of Lifestyle.

**Responsibilities:**

● Managing the advanced planning of highly-engaging and exclusive feature stories.

● Assigning and editing trending daily stories.

● Overseeing the production of all stories — from writing headlines in the Post’s signature wit to ensuring SEO best practices to coordinating photo shoots.

● Analyzing web traffic to drive audience engagement and meet goals of the department.

● Monitoring the news to look for opportunities to add depth to our headlines through original reporting, first-person perspectives and expert explainers.

● Coordinating closely with departments such as photo, video, commerce and audience development.

**Requirements:**

● At least 5 years editing in a news environment, preferably in a lifestyle department.

● Excellent news judgement and the sharpest of editing and writing prowess.

● Your finger on the pulse of the topics and trends of interest to the Post audience.

● Proven understanding of what makes a story successful across digital platforms – from headlines to visuals and optimization.

● Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS.

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stories, writers, and deadlines simultaneously.

● Comfortable making fast, decisive editorial calls in a breaking news environment.

● Collaborative team player who can work across departments including visuals, social, and audience development.

● Familiarity with analytics tools and performance metrics to help guide coverage and strategy.

_Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model. This role will be expected to report into the office 4 days per week (subject to change depending on business needs)._
