Position Highlights Under the supervision of the Multimedia Manager, the Graphic Designer provides multimedia deliverables for the Business Affairs Auxiliary Services Marketing Team. All deliverables will reflect established graphic and visual standards, based on departmental and University standards. A well-qualified applicant will have the design experience necessary to execute multimedia and graphics projects using a variety of communication and media technology, graphic design concepts and programs, and/or photography and videography. The Graphic Designer must have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the production of various multimedia marketing deliverables for three auxiliary services units: Arizona Student Unions, UA Campus Store and Parking & Transportation.
  • Designs, illustrates and prepares layouts for all forms of marketing materials including but not limited to: (electronic) eBlasts, web pages, user interfaces both mobile and other, presentations, web advertisements, digital signage; (print) advertisement, postcards/self-mailers, booklets, brochures, magazines, newsletters, annual reports, banners, posters, point-of-purchase displays, signs, flyers; (logo) campaigns and identities; (3D) displays, signage, apparel design; (photography/videography) architectural, product, food, models.
  • Applies design fundamentals to produce marketing project deliverables across all related material in print, and digital media, while maintaining the integrity of already developed marketing campaign designs and strategies.
  • Construct concept designs, using storyboards, scripts, and preproduction materials for projects for print, digital, branded, photography and video.
  • Adapt approaches based on production needs and the content while maintaining objectives and narrative coherence.
  • Proactively respond to inquiries about creative services and take initiative in providing technical guidance to the clients.
  • Utilizes established expertise in MAC-based software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Acrobat, as examples, including Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Attend client and team meetings and offer process and production insights based on project requirements and best practices.
  • Take initiative in engaging with stakeholders in a collaborative manner, proactively building consensus and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Dependably manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Take on tasks as needed that help the entire multimedia team, from doing inventory, to researching new gear and techniques, to participating in team-building and team-growth exercises.
  • Work closely as part of a team, reviewing each other’s work and offering assistance and feedback.
  • Demonstrate reliability in maintaining detailed project documentation in project management software and keeping records current.
  • Operate, manage and transport technical equipment to field locations, ensuring proper setup and operation in diverse environments.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge in Mac-based software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Acrobat.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Skilled in graphic and visual design such as layout composition, hierarchy, balance, identity, color theory, and typography.
  • Knowledge in digital and print production knowledge, including processing and editing using digital editing system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate various graphic design equipment such as graphic computers, cameras, printing, and lettering equipment, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
