Job Summary

The University of San Jose is seeking a qualified Librarian who holds a Master’s degree specifically in Library Science or Library Information to manage and develop our online E-Library. This role is responsible for overseeing digital resources, ensuring easy access for faculty and students, and maintaining the quality and relevance of our electronic collections. The position can be performed remotely or onsite at our San Jose campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the university’s E-Library and digital collections
• Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, and updating of electronic resources
• Develop and implement strategies for digital collection growth and accessibility
• Provide reference and research support to faculty, students, and staff
• Coordinate training and support for E-Library users
• Monitor usage data and recommend improvements to services and resources

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science (this is a mandatory requirement; degrees in other fields such as Information Management will not be considered)
• Experience with digital library platforms and resource management systems
• Knowledge of electronic resource acquisition, licensing, and metadata management
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Prior experience in an academic library or digital library environment is preferred

• Flexible schedule; remote or onsite work options available
• Must be available for virtual or in-person meetings as required
