Adult Services Reference Assistant or Librarian

The Poplar Creek Public Library is seeking a friendly, customer-service oriented candidate to serve as Adult Services Reference Assistant or Librarian, depending upon qualifications. This position includes providing direct patron assistance and engaging in reference interviews to understand patron needs and providing guidance with digital resources and research. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assistance with collection development, highlighting library resources and programs, and managing the delivery of library programs. The library provides U.S. Passport services, so willingness to train/serve as U.S. Passport Agent is a plus. The candidate will work closely with other staff in a positive team environment and perform responsibilities professionally and in accordance with the policies/procedures of the library.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and relevant experience and/or 2-year LTA degree preferred for Assistant position; Masters of Library and Information Science degree or MLS equivalent from accredited library school required for Librarian level position. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2-years public library experience desired. Experience with programming and or collection development preferred.

Hours

37.50 hours per week:
Schedule TBD but includes one evening per week and participation in the weekend rotation. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the library.

$19.08 + to $27.00+ hourly depending upon qualifications
