Curtis Media Group is a legendary operator in North Carolina who still believes in local radio with local professionals serving their communities. We have an immediate opening in Raleigh, NC (Market #35) for a full-time morning air personality for Classic Hits WKIX-FM. In addition to the regular morning shift on WKIX-FM, this position will also be tasked with other on-air or voice-tracked shifts on Curtis Media/Raleigh stations, along with production and other duties. This position reports directly to the Program Director of WKIX-FM, but may also receive guidance from other Program Directors according to duties assigned. Based on performance, there are strong advancement opportunities within Curtis Media Group.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following Attributes

  • 1-3 years of on-air experience.
  • Strong on-air and production skills, including the ability to be live or voice-tracked for multiple formats, along with experience in producing high-quality promos and imaging.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to write promotional copy, web copy and social media posts.
  • Premium social media skills, including the ability to create engaging content.
  • Proven experience with automation such as iMediaTouch and editing software like Adobe Audition.
  • Prior experience with formats like Classic Hits, Classic Rock, Adult or Variety Hits, Country and Oldies a plus.


Regular Duties Include

  • Daily regular air shift (Monday-Friday) in morning drive (5:30-10:00am) on WKIX-FM.
  • One additional voice-tracked shift on another Curtis Media/Raleigh brand.
  • Monitoring, updating and creating relevant and engaging content for station web sites and social media platforms in cooperation with Promotions departments and Digital department.
  • Various production duties as assigned by the Program Director or Production department.
  • Compliance with applicable FCC and North Carolina laws, rules and regulations regarding station operations and contests/promotions.
