Founder & Lead Communications Strategist at Medley Inc.

Medley Inc. is seeking an experienced and creative communications professional to join our team as a Public Relations & Digital Media Account Executive. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of PR fundamentals, a flair for digital content strategy, and a collaborative spirit. This is a hybrid role based in Houston, TX, with the opportunity for full-time employment after an initial contract period.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in public relations, digital marketing, and/or content marketing, preferably in an agency setting.
• Proven success in developing media relationships and managing digital campaigns across platforms.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Creativity and willingness to experiment with new technologies and trends
• Deep understanding of social media best practices and digital content strategy
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strategic thinker who can also execute with precision
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
• Proactive, self-motivated, and dependable
• Ability to build and sustain strong client and media relationships
• Passion for storytelling and exploring emerging media channels

Primary Responsibilities

Public Relations

• Develop and write press releases, media alerts, and feature stories
• Respond to media inquiries and fulfill press requests
• Proactively pitch story ideas and secure media coverage for clients
• Cultivate and manage relationships with local and national media
• Draft and implement communication strategies for crisis situations
• Lead strategy for digital campaigns
• Oversee client content calendars developed by copywriters and graphic designers, and ensure alignment with overall strategy
• Direct creative teams to enhance visual storytelling

Client & Community Engagement

• Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, anticipating needs and adding value
• Liaise with key stakeholders, board members, and community partners as needed
• Provide support for events including script writing and run of show coordination
• Identify and recommend upsell opportunities to enhance client accounts
• Translate client goals into actionable communications plans
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external teams
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with precision

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
