The Following Films is a rising indie production company with an ambitious long-term vision: to create powerful independent films that scale into billion-dollar IP franchises. With projects already in motion, including The Following (shooting December 2025) and Only Love (a raw, human romance exploring homelessness in America), we are laying the foundation for a studio that will bridge intimate indie storytelling with the scope and scale of global franchises.

We’re looking for a visionary Studio Scale Business & IP Executive who can help us structure, protect, and grow our intellectual property while preparing the business to transition rapidly into larger-scale projects.

-The Role-

This is a future-facing executive hire, with the flexibility to begin as a consultant-level advisor in 2026 (10–15 hrs/month) and transition into a full-time leadership role as the studio scales. You will act as both strategist and operator, shaping the business model for a company that aims to grow from indie films into multi-franchise IP.

• Business Structuring & Strategy: Design and implement scalable corporate and financial structures for the studio and its subsidiaries.
• IP Protection & Management: Secure and manage intellectual property across film, publishing, and franchise development.
• Financing & Investor Relations: Develop strategies for raising capital, draft and support investor contracts, and inspire confidence with institutional and high-net-worth investors.
• Franchise Scaling: Create long-term frameworks that bridge indie development with studio-level operations, preparing for franchise expansion (including Maitreya, Shaman, and Blackriders which make up The Dark Bender Saga).
• Mentorship & Leadership: Advise the founder and early team on best practices from the studio world while helping build a company culture that values both creativity and business rigor.

-What We’re Looking For-

• Studio-world expertise with a strong background in IP protection, financing, or business affairs at a major studio or studio-adjacent company.
• Ability to adapt to indie film realities (lean, entrepreneurial, resourceful) while planning for studio-level scaling.
• Proven experience in investor relations, business structuring, or IP management.
• Excitement about building something from the ground up — not just maintaining a machine that already runs.
• A builder’s mentality: motivated by long-term equity growth and legacy, not just short-term paychecks.

-Compensation & Equity-

• Equity: 0.5–1.5% in The Following Films (vested over 4 years)
• Film Profit Sharing: Negotiable backend participation in Only Love, the first film post-hire
• Consulting Option: Role may begin as a part-time strategic consultant (with prorated equity allocation) and transition into full-time within 2 years
• Cash: At this early stage, cash compensation is limited. Full competitive salary planned once fundraising and Only Love distribution occur.
