General Description: The Houston Rockets are seeking a passionate and talented Video Producer ready to work in a fast-paced and creative production environment. Our department creates original content, features, commercials, and delivers via streaming services, apps, and social media platforms for the Houston Rockets, our partners, and Landry’s. The role involves working closely with Directors, Managers, and the video production team to produce engaging Rockets long-form content.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate our One Team philosophy of Passion, Accountability, Customer Focus, and Teamwork.
- Collaborate with marketing and production teams to build compelling video content for Rockets fans and partners.
- Produce high-quality video content covering game highlights, player profiles, team history, and current storylines, with skills in ideation, storyboarding, and pitching within budget and on brand.
- Develop narratives and storylines that engage audiences and provide insights into the team’s journey, creating content such as documentaries, series, podcasts, and episodic content.
- Stay updated on news, trends, and developments related to the Houston Rockets and NBA.
- Edit and enhance footage using industry-standard software, including color correction and audio mastering, and maintain a digital video library.
- Plan and execute shoots, including interviews and high-production B-roll footage.
- Solicit feedback to refine content quality and storytelling.
- Work independently and collaboratively as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in film, broadcast, communications, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of producing experience for a sports team or post-production house.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Experience in live production/control is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Some travel may be required.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, communicate effectively.
- Ability to review digital and physical materials.
- Ability to move items as needed and adapt to changing work hours and locations.
