Job Description
This position is intended for individuals with a strong interest in production and technology for news and entertainment coverage on cable and digital platforms. The position manages records, routing, ingests content, and administers quality control. Works closely with editorial teams, Transmission, and the Assignment Desk. The ideal candidate has a strong editorial interest and technical understanding, the ability to build strong professional relationships and a flexible schedule.
What You’ll Do:
- Traffic and determine newsgathering feeds; serve as liaison between Transmission and Video Producer teams.
- Assist producers, shows, the Assignment Desk, and other internal “clients” with media ingest requests throughout the day.
- Coordinate with producers and clients to efficiently organize footage during ingest.
- Operate and manage the scheduler interface to record feeds directly into the media asset management system.
- Schedule recordings of all live feeds, show needs (including ISOs, stand-ups, pre-tapes), coverage, and breaking news in a fast-paced live news environment.
- Provide quality control for incoming footage.
- Act as the first point of contact for producers and clients when ingest issues arise; troubleshoot and escalate as needed. File discrepancy reports.
- Utilize various methods to gather interviews, including Zoom, FaceTime, Woody Social, etc.
- Provide guidance to users during the production day.
- Train operators.
- Create SOPs and documentation.

What You Must Have:
- 3+ years of experience in a large media market.
- Strong knowledge of current events, political and business news, and key public figures.
- Ability to autonomously monitor and locate relevant news feeds.
- Experience in resource allocation for planned and large-scale coverage.
- Proficiency in video record/playback systems, basic editing, metadata management, and newsroom communication systems.
- Strong computer skills on both PC and Mac platforms.
- Understanding of production environments.
- Familiarity with digital media workflows.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in a highly deadline-driven environment.
What Would Make You a Stand-out:
- Ability to set audio/video levels to spec and verify signal quality of remotes prior to air.
- Knowledge of booking, coordination, and streaming technology.
- Extensive experience with media asset management tools.
Additional Information
This position is required to be performed full-time from a designated worksite. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
