Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Director of Community Outreach & Communications, based in Wilmington, DE with some flexibility for remote work. The Director will oversee community engagement initiatives, manage communications strategies, create and disseminate press releases, and spearhead community outreach programs. Daily tasks include building relationships with community stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across various channels, and managing budgets related to outreach projects. The Director will also be responsible for measuring the impact of outreach programs and adjusting strategies as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience in Community Engagement and Community Outreach
- Strong Communication and Press Releases skills
- Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment
- Experience with sustainability and clean energy initiatives is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field
Key Responsibilities:
Communications & Community Outreach
- Drive Aterniums visibility in the community and fosterstrong stakeholder relationships.
- ExecuteCommunity Outreach Strategyin alignment with theCommercialization Plan.
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives to engage:
- Local influencers, community organizations, and advocacy groups
- Government officials and strategic partners
- Industrial sector customers and workforce development partners
- Organize and leadCommunity Advisory Board meetings, providing a platform for stakeholders to engage on:
- Government, Regulatory & Permitting
- Workforce Development
As part of a growing, entrepreneurial company, the successful candidate will be called on to do some of the tasks below and other items as needed.
Internal / Project Management
- Oversee and manageQuality Management System (QMS)/CORE systemto ensureUnited States DOE complianceand build towardsISO 9001:2015 certification.
- Coordinate with internal teams to draft and implementpolicy-compliant procedures, with a strong focus onRisk Management Planning.
- Establish and maintainISO-aligned document control system, ensuring all controlled documents aresecure and up-to-date.
- Serve as a liaison withOwners Engineer and Financial team regardingDOE reimbursement and engagement process for the Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub (MACH2).
- Work closely withIT partner(s)to maintain compliance acrossIT systemsand ensure operational efficiency.
Sales & Business Development
- SupportHydrogen & Oxygen business development efforts, expanding market reach and customer engagement.
- Conducttargeted customer outreachbased onCommercialization Plan priorities.
- Maintain and enhancecustomer pipeline, driving sustainablemarket growth.
- Gather and analyzemarket datato inform strategic sales decisions and optimizetarget market selection.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience inproject management, community engagement, regulatory compliance, and sales development.
- Strong knowledge ofISO requirements, risk management planning, and document control systems.
- Ability to engage and manage relationships withgovernment officials, community leaders, and strategic partners.
- Expertise inbusiness development, customer outreach, and market data analysis.
- Excellentcommunication skills, with an ability to executehigh-impact outreach strategies.
- Background inhydrogen industry, renewable energy, or chemical manufacturingis a plus.
- Insightful: Seeks deep understanding of stakeholders needs, motivations and behaviors, and translates them into insights to create value for our stakeholders.
