Position Title Library Assistant (Acquisitions Clerk)

About CCRI
Job Summary
The Library Assistant (Acquisitions Clerk) is responsible for placing orders with vendors for materials and subscriptions used by the library as well as ensuring prompt communication regarding payments, and changes to products/services with these partners. The Acquisitions Clerk will communicate with staff and faculty librarians on all four campuses to ensure budget adherence and efficient ordering of materials is maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities Administers the procurement of library materials, including placing and expediting orders Monitors library materials expenditures and budget balances Provides budget reports and alerts the responsible librarians when purchases are nearing budget limits Collaborates with collection development librarians and the Electronic Resource Management librarian to establish acquisitions priorities Establishes appropriate acquisitions procedures Communicates with vendors to resolve issues with orders, shipments, or payments Coordinates ordering, receiving, and distribution of materials Receives and reconciles shipments with packing lists, checking for damage or errors, and processing invoice May organize incoming mail and packages and prepare outbound mail/packages for intercampus delivery. Maintains accurate and detailed records and reports. Assists with preparing library books, CD's, DVD's, audiobooks, and other materials for circulation. Produces a year-end analysis of expenditures Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with accounting and purchasing Strong computer, Office 365, and Microsoft Excel skills, with attention to detail and thoroughness required Proficient with office equipment (printers, scanners, etc.) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and a collaborative approach to working with vendors, students, and colleagues Competencies
Bachelor's degree Bilingual in English and Spanish Professional library acquisitions experience Experience managing funds and budgets
