Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanical Designer for a full-time, permanent position. This role involves mechanical drafting of electromechanical equipment, with a focus on conveyor layouts and structural steel within facilities. The standard workweek is 45 hours, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Create layout and general arrangement drawings.
• Develop bills of material (BOM) and customer-specific designs.
• Produce technical documentation and concept designs.
• Interpret technical specifications and optimize designs for cost-effectiveness.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a team environment.
• Support cost and schedule targets.
• Work independently from a home office.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Minimum 4 years' experience with mechanical drafting discipline.
• Experience with mechanical design for at least 3 years.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree.
• Revit experience is a plus.
• Customer site survey experience is a plus.
• Understanding of structural steel design using beams, channels, angles, etc.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Millwright and/or construction trade experience helpful.
• Self-motivated with a high desire to learn about the automation/conveyor industry.
• Professional representation with customers.
• Experience working remotely and space for a home office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Medical, dental, eye, life and disability insurance become effective 90-days after full-time employment. Medical is 100% covered by the company to the employee and includes spouse and children. Additional life and long-term disability are options available to employees.
