Technical Director Lead
WHO WE ARE:
STAHL Companies provides the Program Management for its Channel of Commercial Technology companies in Government that consist of Small Businesses and New Technology start-ups.
STAHL advocates for policies that can improve government services and maintain our government's competitive advantage, by bringing more technology into government programs.
STAHL Companies advocates on behalf of our nation's innovative, new technology and small businesses looking to work with the U.S. government. We do this by aligning the voice of our small business members with advocacy for change in federal policy that will make the government market more accessible to small businesses and the commercial technology ecosystem.
The Channel's founding Technical Board Members include former government leaders and IT executives passionate about bringing best-of-breed technology to the government.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Director Lead to join our team!
Responsibilities:
· Provide senior-level technical leadership, guidance, and direction in support of program office objectives, ensuring alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy mission requirements.
· Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, overseeing task execution, resource allocation, and personnel development to meet program goals and deliverables.
· Serve as the principal technical advisor to program leadership, delivering expertise in Navy Communications systems, including MILSATCOM, Commercial SATCOM, Tactical Communications, and GPS capabilities.
· Direct and coordinate complex engineering, technical, and programmatic efforts, ensuring compliance with established DoD acquisition policies, standards, and best practices.
· Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and trade-off analyses to support decision-making and optimize system performance and interoperability.
· Provide program management oversight, ensuring all tasking and deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with cost and quality standards.
· Collaborate with stakeholders across DoD, industry partners, and other government agencies to ensure effective communication and integration of C4I/IT solutions.
· Ensure all activities comply with security requirements, including maintaining TS/SCI standards, and safeguard sensitive program information.
· Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and long-term technology roadmaps to support Navy and DoD modernization efforts.
· Mentor and develop junior technical and program staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, science, or technical field.
· Minimum 10 years of experience in direct support to a program office (e.g., PMW) or similar organization with the Department of Defense (DoD) for tasking directly related to the tasking described in this SOW. At least five years of experience must be within the last five years.
· Minimum 7 years relevant experience managing tasks and personnel. At least 5 years of experience must be within the last 5 years.
· Demonstrated knowledge of military C4I/IT products; with specific Navy Communications (SATCOM-both MILSATCOM and Commercial), Tactical Communications, and GPS knowledge
· DAWIA Level 2 OR equivalent for PM or SE (desired)
· TS/ SCI
