About the Role
At Gromax Precision, we design and build world-class tooling for industries like aerospace, medical, defense, and electric vehicles. We’re looking for a Tooling Designer / Mechanical Designer who thrives on problem-solving, enjoys working directly with customers, and wants a clear path to senior leadership.
This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical design and tooling experience (injection mold, cold heading, stamping, or related industries). Progressive stamping die design experience is not required—we will train the right candidate.
We will hire you for our Senior Tooling & Die Designer – Progressive Stamping Dies position if you possess Progressive Die Design experience.

What You’ll Do
- Design custom tooling, hard gages, and progressive stamping dies (training provided if no prior die experience).
- Assist in the quoting process by creating detailed design concepts and cost packages.
- Collaborate directly with customers to refine design solutions and ensure manufacturability.
- Work closely with the production floor to support tool builds and troubleshoot issues.
- Contribute positively to the team culture and support a respectful, collaborative workplace.
What We’re Looking For
- Background in tooling design (injection mold, cold heading, stamping, or related tooling experience).
- Progressive stamping die experience a plus but not required.
- Experience with hard gage design is a strong plus.
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Logopress).
- 5+ years of proven design/development experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace, defense, medical, or electrical industries is a plus.
- Ability to assist with quoting and collaborate effectively with both customers and the shop floor.
- Mechanical aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving mindset.
- U.S. Citizen (due to ITAR requirements).
