Assistant Manager At Gulf Gate Library

Join our team at the beautiful Gulf Gate Library! As our Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in providing day-to-day oversight and operation of the library, our staff, and system-wide programs. In this role, you will...

  • Monitor library operations and participate in strategic planning for the library and library system.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate special projects, services, and programs.
  • Provide opportunities for continuing professional development of self and other staff members, especially in acquiring relevant understanding and skills via coaching and performance management.
  • Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries.
  • Oversee financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits, ensuring appropriate controls are established and implemented.
  • Handle employee relations issues.
  • Attend annual cash management training and assist in all areas of business unit cash and budget management.
  • Prepare and present activity reports and technical information.
  • Ensure standards of service that provide prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by internal and external customers, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy.
  • Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation activities in the area of responsibility.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week.
  • Sunday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Must be available to work during operating hours for the library - including some nights and weekends.
  • Employee may be reassigned to a different work location (other than their original assignment) within the library system to meet changing service needs on occasion.

About You:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Services
  • Two (2) years of related experience
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for five (5) years.

Starting Pay: $61,755.20
