WEEKLY HOURS - .5 COURSE CREDIT: No more than 10 hours per week. No more than 6 hours per day, plus complete a self-reflection project and present it during the last week of the internship. Currently a 1 - 2 semester limit.
HOURLY PAY: $15/hr stipend (No taxes withheld)
WHEN WORK HAPPENS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM unless instructed differently by your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor Contact Name above.

Summary of Position
Student Interns will assist VVHS Film in all aspects of professional pre-production, production, and post-production aspects of digital film, including creating short films, assisting in community events, assisting with local film festivals, and the production of school-related recruitment videos. Student Interns will have successfully taken 2 years of film production class with their goal of going into the film industry, a post-production house, or becoming an independent filmmaker. Student interns must have demonstrated the ability to create highly polished films and have entered their films at the city, state, regional, and national levels, both in calls for art and film festivals. Student interns are highly motivated individuals who understand the creativity, communication, and technical aspects of film and enjoy helping younger students as student leaders within the field and at Volcano Vista High School.

We will teach you
Working and Physical Conditions/Onboarding Requirements (**vaccinations, etc.)
We will teach you how to create a film from start to finish, how to become a professional editor with a client base, meet deadlines, and become a master level user of Adobe Premiere Pro and various other editing software. We will take field trips to visit local university film programs such as CNM, UNM, and encourage internships with our APS partners, such as Katharsis Media and other locales. Student Interns will have a polished resume, professional film reel, and be encouraged to certify in Adobe applications upon graduation.
Please speak to your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor regarding working and physical conditions at your intern site. You will also be required to sign and upload a W-9 and Parental Permission form. In addition, you will be required to electronically acknowledge Non-Disclosure and Internship agreements.
