PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Include salary range including currency icon $90,000 - $100,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We’re looking for a dynamic Video Journalist to work alongside our North America Technology Correspondent, producing high-impact tech coverage for global audiences. You’ll film, edit, and shape stories under tight deadlines, bringing clarity and creativity to complex topics. This is a unique opportunity to drive BBC News’s technology storytelling, delivering authoritative, engaging content across digital, TV, and social platforms.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Film and edit high-quality video journalism, often under tight deadlines, for BBC News’s global platforms.
- Collaborate closely with the BBC’s North America Technology Correspondent, managing editorial and production demands.
- Contribute fresh ideas and experiment with formats to engage diverse audiences.
- Research, script, and produce clear, authoritative tech stories that resonate with general audiences.
- Respond flexibly to fast-moving stories across North America, delivering trusted journalism when it matters most.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Minimum three years filming and editing video reports in a fast-paced news environment.
- Proven ability to work solo with a correspondent, juggling multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
- Strong track record in researching, scripting, editing and coordinating impactful journalism across platforms.
- Skilled at simplifying complex topics and making tech stories engaging and accessible.
- Brings fresh ideas, editorial judgement, and professionalism to every assignment.
