Job Summary
The Art Art History Department in the College of Communication, Architecture and the Arts (CARTA) is currently seeking a Photography Studio Assistant to join their team of professionals.
Duties Include:
- The Art Art History Department has an opportunity for a Student Lab Safety Officer to assist with studio management in Photography
- The candidate will assist with studio maintenance, basic tool and equipment use, basic studio inventory, and general oversight of open studio hours
- The candidate will complete basic health and safety training provided by supervising Lab Manager; Personal safety equipment will be provided
- Responsibilities may include maintaining equipment in the digital lab and analog lab facilities
- Help with daily set-up and/or break down of the analog lab facilities
- Maintaining the software update-schedule under the supervision of full-time Lab Manager
- Help students with studio set-up and breakdown; routine lab organization and clean-up under the direction of the supervising Lab Manager
- General oversight of open studio hours
Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in Art Art History degree programs, but students in other departments with a passion for Photography are also welcomed to apply.

Who May Apply
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule
Hours based on class schedule and needs of department.
Advertised Salary
$13.00/Hour
