Overview
The English and Communication Department at UC Blue Ash College invites applicants for the Communication Adjunct faculty general pool from which part-time faculty will be selected for upcoming terms as needed. On a part-time, limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching first- and second-year communication courses. This may include creating curricula or teaching from model curricula provided by the department. Part-time faculty must have experience and training to provide course instruction in public speaking and/or business communication. Part-time faculty are expected to (1) use the course management system Canvas; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students and reply to student communications in a timely manner; (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year; (4) participate in program assessment. Part-time faculty should be available to teach in-person. Classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
- Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
- Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
Masters degree (or higher) in in Communication.
Required Experience
At least one (1) year of teaching experience in a college setting.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience teaching public speaking, interpersonal communication, and/or business communication.
- Ph.D. or ABD in communication.
