Overview

The Senior Editor/Producer is a senior-level, full-time position within the Producers Department at NFL Films. This role is responsible for story producing and editorial execution of high-end sports content across broadcast, cable, streaming, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a bold storyteller and a high-level editor with a strong command of cinematic language, long- and short-form unscripted narrative, post-production workflows, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Edit long-form features, documentaries, series, specials, and weekly quick-turnaround programming, ensuring high-quality storytelling across formats and timelines.
  • Lead editor on premium projects, setting visual style, pacing, and emotional impact; also contribute as an editor on collaborative productions with other producers.
  • Provide editorial oversight and feedback on scripts, rough cuts, and final edits.
  • Collaborate with producers, directors, cinematographers, and composers to elevate NFL Films’ signature storytelling style.
  • Pitch original ideas and contribute to the creative development of new programming.
  • Collaborate with post-production teams on sound design, graphics, color grading, and final delivery.
  • Ensure all content meets NFL Films’ standards for quality, accuracy, and storytelling excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Film, Television Production, Journalism, Creative Writing or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in television/film production, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior editorial role.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional editing experience, with advanced proficiency in Avid Media Composer.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a high-level editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing long-form storytelling, short-form and montage editing, cinematic pacing, and emotional impact.
  • Deep knowledge of professional football and a passion for sports storytelling.
  • Proven ability to lead creative teams and manage complex productions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience producing premium content from concept to completion.
  • Familiarity with NFL Films’ legacy and storytelling style.
  • Background in sports documentaries or unscripted storytelling.
  • Experience as finishing editor on premium projects.

Travel

Terms / Expected Hours Of Work

  • Approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • In-office position located at NFL Films outside of Philadelphia in Southern New Jersey.

Salary / Pay Range

Salary range: $130,000—$175,000 USD. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. The NFL believes, in good faith, that it might be willing to pay within this range in the specified locations. In truly rare and exceptional circumstances, an external candidate with exceptional credentials may be considered for the higher end of the range.

In addition: In-person work at NFL offices is a top priority; remote and/or hybrid work options are not offered. NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCE WILL BE PROVIDED.
