Overview

Graphic Designer (Entry-Level) role at Garver in Overland Park, Kansas. The position is with the Transportation Strategic Communications team and focuses on visually translating ideas and messaging into a variety of deliverables. This is an entry-level role located in Overland Park, KS.

Responsibilities

  • Design visual assets that enhance clarity and professionalism in business communications, including reports, presentations, and internal and external strategic messaging
  • Create graphics for web and print collateral that align with brand standards
  • Build vector illustrations, such as infographics and project maps
  • Develop, conceptualize, and collaborate with the team to create visually appealing content
  • Photo-editing
  • Coordinate production of materials, copyediting/drafting written materials, and producing reports
  • Offer creative ideas, process improvements, and technological solutions to expand the team’s abilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field (e.g., graphic design, visual communication)
  • Proficient user of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), specifically on Microsoft Windows
  • Strong written, graphical, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage work, problem solve, and execute tasks on schedule
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a collaborative environment
  • Comfortable working and speaking with employees in different departments across the organization
  • Excellent attention to detail – particularly in incorporating feedback and edits from multiple team members
  • 0-1 years of work history in a corporate environment
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office software including Word and PowerPoint
