The Role

We are seeking software engineers in Orlando as part of the core team developing DirectX/Direct3D drivers for AMD desktop/laptop systems. In this role, you will work with the very latest hardware and software technology with a focus on D3D driver quality, improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks, and support for new Direct3D 12 features.

  • Good communication skills and an ability to communicate well with teams around the globe
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about learning, good software engineering, problem solving, and new technologies

Key Responsibilities

  • The development, debugging, and performance tuning of graphics software running on Microsoft Windows
  • Collaborating with ASIC design engineers and hardware/software architects, OS engineers and peers in related development teams
  • The ability to debug low level hardware and operating system functionality is desired

Preferred Experience

  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience programming and optimizing games
  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture and organization
  • 3D Graphics API knowledge and experience (D3D, OpenGL, or Vulkan)
  • 3D graphics driver knowledge and experience
  • Windows development experience
  • OS and performance knowledge and experience
  • Experience with multi-threading and concurrent programming
  • Familiarity with performance analysis tools

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
