Overview

The Mamaroneck Public Library is seeking a flexible, dynamic, and tech-savvy part-time Reference Librarian who is passionate about public service and community engagement.

This position is part-time and requires availability for a minimum of two Saturdays per month, with additional weekday and evening shifts as needed. While the primary focus is on Adult Services, this role also includes occasional cross-departmental support, such as desk coverage or assistance in the Youth Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Provides reference desk support including reader’s advisory, reference services, and basic technology and computer assistance to the public.


• Participates in collection development and maintenance activities.


• May plan and implement programs or events.


• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Library Director to support the library’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

• MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited university.


• NYS Public Librarian Certification or ability to become certified.

Compensation: $28 per hour.
