News10 ABC is hiring: Technical Media Operator in City of Albany

News10 ABC is hiring a full-time Technical Media Operator. The Technical Media Operator has four primary tasks:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Newscast Directing
• Newscast Audio Operator
• Media Center Operator
• Master Control Operator

Additional duties include:

• Operating studio and field cameras for live and taped events
• Composing and framing shots, adjusting lighting, lenses, and camera settings as directed
• Adjusting camera focus, exposure, and lighting based on director and station needs
• Operating audio equipment for various broadcasts
• Using editing systems, titling, video switching, and digital effects to produce content
• Coordinating with the director and studio staff during productions
• Building and decorating sets or providing props for production
• Installing, operating, and maintaining sound recording equipment
• Operating studio graphic systems during broadcasts
• Providing audio support and collaborating with outside production facilities as needed
• Assisting with digital media productions and liaising with relevant departments
• Converting analog recordings, film, or printed materials to digital formats
• Maintaining and storing equipment, records, and tapes

Requirements & Skills:

• Degree in Communication or a related field, or equivalent training/experience
• Experience in television, film, or post-production is preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, and technical staff
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills

Salary & Benefits:

Hourly Range: $16.00 - $17.00. Includes a competitive compensation package with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and more.
