Court Reporter - Tucson - VA VISN-22 | Southern Arizona VA Health Care System
Overview
This Non-Exempt | Contract Contingent position currently best aligns with the Court Reporter Labor Category and supports an engagement for Government - Federal sector clients. The assignment involves providing Court Reporting Services to the Westeran States Network Consortium for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.
Responsibilities
- Provide Court Reporting Services to the Westeran States Network Consortium.
- Support requirements for assist program and project management in a functional area with educational and practical experience.
- Be competent, efficient, and have the experience, training, and education in Court Reporting with adequate and appropriate equipment to produce accurate, timely, bound and indexed transcribed testimony from witnesses; be punctual and present at relevant proceedings; maintain a professional demeanor; provide necessary equipment and materials to perform duties and deliverables.
- Proficient in English to read portions of the transcript during proceedings at the request of the board or other presiding body and, if asked, clarify inaudible statements. Experience with Administrative Investigation Board (AIB) process, Equal Opportunity Hearing, Human Resources Management MSPB, or arbitration hearings is preferred.
- Must be competent to administer oaths. Depositions shall be transcribed by a duly authorized notary. Must have flexibility to accommodate any turn-around requested by the client. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.
- All employees shall conduct themselves in the highest standards of ethical and business conduct. Duties shall be performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones and delivery schedules.
- The position requires computer use (email) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools; credentials must be provided within one week upon request.
Qualifications and Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Adobe; ability to work with data analytic tools and Visio; willingness to learn additional tools.
- All staff must be eligible for a Facility Access Authorization by the USG’s designated Security Office.
- Other Requirements and Conditions of Employment apply; ability to submit to varying levels of background investigation.
- Technical Proficiency: Candidates must speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
- Physical Requirements: Able to bend, lift up to 20 pounds, reach, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods (with or without accommodation).
- CREDENTIALING AND PRIVILEGING: High school diploma or equivalency; at least one year of court reporting experience; NCRA Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), or equivalent; credentials must be provided within one week upon request.
- TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required; travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
- LOCATION: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.
