Overview
Job Title: Systems Analyst 3/ UI/UX Developer
Location: 4601 W Guadalupe Street, Austin, TX 78751
Duration: 10 Months (With Possibility of Extension)
Required: 12 Years of experience
Hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
Experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
Experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.
Preferred: 5 yrs of exp.
Experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.

Job Description
Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.

Key responsibilities
- Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Proven UX Design Experience: Extensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping (low and high-fidelity), and usability testing.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
- Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
- Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
- Employ a comprehensive suite of tools—including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar—and implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML Interfaces: Design user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning, with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
- Complex System Design: Understand and design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements, particularly in domains like government services, healthcare, or finance.
- Data Visualization: Present complex data and AI insights in a clear, concise, and understandable visual format.
- Empathy and User Advocacy: Commit to understanding user needs and advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.
- Understanding of Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive design.
- Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based, data-intensive applications.
