Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for a Regional Visual Merchandiser.
Working Locations: Tacoma (Home Store), Tukwila, Kirkland, Lynnwood, Spokane, and Helena MT
Reports to: Store Planning & Visual Operations Manager
Position: Non – Exempt / Hourly
Salary: $25 / hr to $26 / hr
What You Will Do
- Execute innovative visual plans and strategies for building our brand and translating the look seamlessly to the region’s retail stores.
- Visit all stores, as directed within the region, communicating the visual merchandising plans and strategies, and ensuring all company directives are supported.
- Work with the in-store Visual Merchandisers daily, to ensure optimum display presentations, room-setting functionality, and visual standards are being met.
- Ensure the consistent, timely and effective changeover of product in the showrooms including in-store floor moves on a seasonal basis, in-store events and working with Seasonality.
- Work collaboratively with the Store Managers, Visual Merchandisers and General Managers to make sure all products that should be in the stores are; and key items and top selling products are in the right locations at the right times in accordance with our marketing and promotional calendars and events.
- Build strong working relationships with the Visual Display Team and the associate partners in your area engaging them in learning and upholding exceptional visual standards.
- Weekly conference call with the Visual Merchandising Manager HQ; following up on the prior week’s work, and visual direction for that week.
- Merchandise all products in-store, while working with unique architectural features in all locations-maximizing the full potential of the floor space; without making it feel cluttered.
- Make sure all e-commerce presentations that are highlighted on the Internet, are replicated in all stores.
- Routinely report on store visuals and visual effectiveness, provide photographs of before and after visits and provide information on trends.
- Use your energy and enthusiasm for design to actively participate in in-store meetings, Visual Team meetings and training sessions within the market.
- Promote a team culture that exemplifies the Scandinavian Design philosophy and promote innovation, high quality standards and encouraged that attracts and develops talent.
- Draw /sketches and designs to illustrate and communicate your ideas and vision.
- Ensure prices and other key information can be seen and are consistent with directives.
- Emphasize correct stocking direction, signage placement and general maintenance.
- Identify and correct all visual inconsistencies.
- Stay up to date with our product range, features and benefits, and stock levels.
- Understand and follow our company policies and procedures.
- Treat all staff and associates with respect and professionalism, working effectively and efficiently together.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong knowledge of current up to date of visual merchandising practices
- Have a strong knowledge of who are local competitors are within the market, and regularly do comparative shopping within those locations
- Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff and builds lasting relationships with our customers.
- Perform other duties or special projects when assigned.
Who You Are
- Professional Visual Merchandising experience in a multi-location home furnishings environment.
- This role travels by car across the specified region.
- Extensive travel to other locations including: Tacoma (Home Store) Tukwila, Kirkland, Lynnwood, Spokane, and Helena MT
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to illustrate ideas and concepts by drawing and sketching.
- Knowledge of color and design consistent with the Scandinavian Design Philosophy.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs.
- Competent with common construction/interior design tools such as: ladders, drills, levels, blades, furniture dollies etc.,
- Experience with working with Marketing tools and Collateral.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance with reliable transportation.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Working with our furnishings will require some lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Use of hand tools such as drills, ladders, levels, blades, furniture dollies etc...
- Sometimes of heavy (up to 50 lbs. and more with assistance) and objects of unusual shape and size.
- Use of all office equipment including phone, keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
- Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred or equivalent education and experience.
