Overview
Diagnostic Assessment Writer role at Fernbrook Family Center. Clinical Trainees or Qualified Mental Health Professionals working in the home and office are responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to children, adults, and families.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Clinical Trainees or Qualified Mental Health Professionals are not responsible for the supervision of other employees. They are expected to coordinate services with other Fernbrook employees who share caseloads.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy and/or skills services to children, adults, and families.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for services.
- Complete all documentation according to content and quality standards.
- Collaborate and consult with outside providers.
- Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement.
- Regularly attend and engage in staff meetings.
- Actively seek out supervisory and peer consultation and direction as needed.
- Complete 30 hours of continuing education related to mental health every two years and any additional hours required by licensing board.
- Communicate and reflect Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally.
- Comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting, listening, and observing or working on a computer.
- Physical health and stamina to work on a consistent basis with children and adults who have varying needs.
- Occasional situations may occur where staff need to be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Expected hours of work are flexible and generally occur between 7:00am – 7:00pm.
- Expected to travel to and from a client's home, community settings, Fernbrook offices, and other locations when clients are placed out of home.
- Salary staff are required to work 40-43 hours per week, however hours may be outside of this range in order to complete projects and responsibilities to meet client needs.
- Hourly staff are able to work up to 40 hours per week. Hours over 40 will need to be preapproved for overtime by supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Positions that require community based client contact must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record.
- Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements
- Licensure or on track for licensure in one of the following license types: LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, or LP.
