Overview

Classroom or online instruction for courses in the art of writing and marketing narrative screenplays.

Essential Duties

  • Teach the art of writing and marketing narrative screenplays.
  • Deliver student-centered instruction by creating a conducive learning environment and preparing engaging lessons.
  • Promote student success by demonstrating flexibility, passion for teaching, and engaging students in learning.
  • Prepare all course materials and lessons adequately.
  • Provide clear course expectations and timelines through a syllabus that meets standards.
  • Ensure delivery of course and program learning outcomes.
  • Assign relevant and interesting projects that demonstrate learning outcomes.
  • Encourage student participation and learning while maintaining mutual respect.
  • Provide timely feedback and evaluation.
  • Maintain records of student progress and make them accessible to students and college personnel.
  • Complete final grade reports and other end-of-semester activities promptly.
  • Consult with academic staff on curriculum, instructional strategies, and policies.
  • Respond promptly and thoroughly to requests from students and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Some college-level education.
  • Writing credits on award-winning or mainstream-distributed plays, films, or TV shows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of industry or teaching experience in the subject area.

Details

Position varies by semester. Compensation is $680.00 per lecture hour. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Due to high application volume, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. Resumes will be kept on file.
