Established in 1975, Delta Galil Industries is a global manufacturer and marketer of Private Label apparel products for men, women and children, as well as owner of leading fashion brands such as 7 For All Mankind, Schiesser, PJ Salvage, Eminence, Delta and more.

Position Summary The VP, Design & Merchandising will be responsible for overseeing the product conception and creative design. This includes innovative, on-time, and on-budget designs with a focus on maintaining strong brand image. The person will be responsible for building/leading the creative design team, setting group goals, objectives and timelines, and leading the effort as a hands-on doer. The person will work closely with senior teams in developing a creative vision for new product lines along with signature product modifications that represent the brands. The person will also need to work cross-functionally in a collaborative fashion with key stakeholders including sales, production, product management, packaging, and other relevant teams within the supply chain to effectively move products from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop the product design strategy; lead the creative vision, as well as design and development execution. Clearly communicate product vision to design and development teams.

Evaluate internal and external resources to evaluate the best and most cost effective approach to design creation and product development. Manage designers and CAD designers and work closely with technical designers, vendors, and factories to ensure new products are developed on time, correctly, both aesthetically and structurally.

Maintain a firm command of marketplace trends (including consumer, fashion, and product). Prepare fashion trend boards and color stories as required.

Manage the product costing process through timely submission of prototypes packages to factories and vendors. Revise materials and product designs to accomplish profit margin objectives relative to anticipated wholesale and retail prices.

Work jointly with Business Managers, Factories, and the Sourcing department in the development of appropriate and cost effective sourcing strategies.

Build working relationships with materials/component vendors and manufacturers to accomplish product sourcing needs.

Actively participate in regular meetings with Sales to present products trends, strategies and seasonal lines to build our mutual businesses.

Apply sound professional and fiscal management in the oversight of the department, including budget line items, especially in the areas of outsourced design resources, sample materials, freight costs, T&E, and sampling.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design

10-15 years of intimates experience in mass market and private label required in design, product development and merchandising.

Proven track record of effective leadership and results in growing the business

Comprehensive understanding of the technical and raw materials components in the bra and innerwear manufacturing process

Proven experience in strategic and profitable line building to achieve business objectives

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

Team player and problem solver in a demanding deadline driven environment

Motivated, proactive, highly organized and able to adapt to changing priorities

Strong organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail

Knowledge of PLM, WebPDM, Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator

This is an onsite role, with 5 days per week in our Secaucus, New Jersey office.
