Join to apply for the Senior Manager, Strategic Philanthropic Marketing role at Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. Founded in 1951, the Foundation has assets over 1.5 billion and supported donors and partners to advance community philanthropy. In 2023, the Foundation distributed 195 million via 12,400 grants to over 3,000 nonprofits, with 67 percent of grants staying within the Atlanta regional service area. The Senior Manager will be embedded in the Philanthropy Team and will build an infrastructure for donor engagement and professional advisor marketing and communications to inspire philanthropic support for and engagement with the Foundation and its priority areas. As a bridge between the Philanthropy and Marketing and Communications teams, this role will partner with colleagues to develop materials for donors and professional advisors that communicate, educate, inspire, cultivate and align with the organization’s strategic goals. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills and a focus on topline strategy and bottom-line detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies for donors and professional advisors to advance philanthropic goals and initiatives. Lead execution of logistics related to donor communications, including building and sending emails, confirming contact lists are prepared, managing review processes with multiple reviewers, building surveys and processing submissions. Analyze and measure marketing and communications outcomes to identify and share key learnings, and identify opportunities for message testing or A/B testing in email communications. Integrate philanthropic and planned giving messaging within the broader Community Foundation marketing and communications framework to ensure consistency and alignment with the organization’s vision and values that elevate the brand. Contribute to brand ideation and planning sessions around the Philanthropy team’s main goals, including providing a meaningful donor experience, learning about donor interests, and meeting donors where they are. Write and create content for donor stewardship communications, including a quarterly email newsletter to donors, donor portal content, and thought leadership pieces from different voices. Provide design suggestions and implement ideas for improving the appeal, visibility, and impact of donor and professional advisor marketing and communications deliverables. Drive cross-departmental collaboration. Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on best practices in philanthropy marketing and communications. Serve as the primary interface for donor and professional advisor event creation and execution communications, working collaboratively to align goals and messaging. Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic and corporate marketing and communications, with a focus on philanthropy or nonprofit sectors. Must demonstrate skill in thought leadership, marketing, media and earned PR, writing, brand execution, fundraising, and corporate communications. Strong Associated Press style writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt messaging for various audiences. Demonstrated experience in working with donors, including high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage multiple projects, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Creative thinker committed to continuous improvement in philanthropy, marketing, and communications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact with constituents and other external contacts with diplomacy. Ability to work independently with creativity and initiative. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with various departments. Strong relationship-building, interpersonal communication, and customer service skills, including the ability to accommodate a high level of interaction with staff, donors, grantees, and community members. The Community Foundation operates in a hybrid working environment with staff working in the office three days per week and the option to work two days remotely per week, pending good standing. Compensation
To be determined based on experience and qualifications. This position is currently benchmarked with an anticipated salary range of 100000-110000. This position is exempt, and the employee is eligible for the Foundation’s competitive health and benefits plan.
