Overview The primary functions of the

Marketing Specialist

position are to drive customer and prospect engagement, increase brand visibility in the market, create compelling collateral, website/social media content, and develop inbound and outbound messaging campaigns and sequences. These efforts are to measurably improve inbound lead generation, customer acquisition and retention, and website performance.

About The Role The Marketing Specialist will also serve as the in-house expert on our CRM, SEO analytics tools, and marketing tech stack, liaison with key Matson divisions to enhance marketing and communications efforts, and develop and maintain collateral, brand, and digital asset libraries.

This is an onsite position in Walnut Creek, CA.

What You’ll Do

Project Management – triage marketing requests, set priorities, set timelines, schedule resources to meet and exceed expectations, and measure ROI. Need strong organizational and time management skills.

Content Marketing – Strategic direction, editing, writing, review/approval, scheduling, promotion, and reporting. Includes but not limited to email campaigns, social media campaigns, press releases, landing pages, web pages, blog posts, email newsletters, case studies/white papers, sales materials, presentations, indexes, and executive thought leadership.

Lead Gen/ABM – campaign strategy, email marketing, ABM, buyer intent, programmatic, paid/organic, and social. Ability to conduct market, audience, and competitor research and analysis. Expertise in building multi-tier marketing campaigns that engage audiences and drive results. Experience in contact list building and management is a plus.

Tech Stack and Technical Expertise – high-level understanding and hands-on experience with marketing technologies and skill sets:

HubSpot (marketing CRM)

SEO expertise (on-page, off-page, technical)

Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, GA4 reporting

ChatGPT or Jasper.ai (or a similar AI tool to increase efficiency/output)

Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the B2B sector.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, journalism or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage design process, workflow, and print projects, develop creative briefs, and direct graphic design activities.

Ability to conduct industry research to create effective and compelling marketing campaigns

Understanding of SEO, and proven ability to audit and optimize online content accordingly

Working knowledge of SEM and Google Ads and ability to optimize content for search engine marketing campaigns

Conduct professional interviews with executives, customers, and subject matter experts to create content

Perform ongoing SEO keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization

Turn creative direction and ideas into polished content to increase brand reach and build relationships with stakeholders

Develop and manage content team to produce email campaigns, organic social media content and campaigns, and paid social media campaigns

Develop and maintain content calendar

Develop reports from HubSpot, Google Analytics, Semrush, Facebook, and LinkedIn to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts

Well organized, able to work in a busy environment requiring management of multiple projects

Some travel may be required

The annual salary range is posted for this position in California. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
