Overview
Graphic Design Manager – Harris County Department of Education (HCDE). Primary purpose: Lead design team in developing, managing and delivery of effective and compelling design solutions across Department divisions and stakeholder touch points while maintaining brand standards, the HCDE mission and goals. Responsibilities
Manage end to end graphics and design process from creative concept through production. Participate in designing and redesigning advertisements, brochures, web page graphics, logos, illustrations and other forms of visual communication. Maintain and manage graphics standards and ensure all projects adhere to brand identity. Work closely with Communications and Marketing & Client Engagement Directors to develop and implement internal and external marketing campaigns and strategies, through traditional and non-traditional platforms. Work closely with the digital team to coordinate collateral for web and social to ensure up-to-date, relevant information is shared. Manage design requests, assigning to team and ensuring timely delivery. Serve as a consultant for staff and partners concerning the visual brand identity. Manage printing and other production processes: request quotes, produce print-ready files aligned with specifications, complete press checks and coordinate delivery. Manage a suite of easy to use templates/tools for non-design staff to utilize for presentations, social posts and one-pagers. Work closely with executive staff to produce dynamic presentations that showcase the work of the Department and divisions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in fine arts and/or design with emphasis on marketing, advertising, or public relations Special Knowledge/Skills
Display exceptional leadership and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team Strategic and creative approach to design Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data Fluent in print production processes; pre-press to product Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365 Experience
