We are actively recruiting a senior level creative Interior Design Manager to be a part of our collaborative firm in our Aviation market sector. Projects range from bespoke high-end hospitality premium lounges to high profile airport terminal interiors. Great opportunity for a highly motivated designer who wants to show their creative side with challenging projects in an innovative work environment. This designer will work under the direction of the Design Director to lead and develop exceptional design solutions for our Aviation studio. This role will lead the development of effective and innovative designs utilizing the firms design approach and innovation tools. This position will also have opportunities for potential travel based on project locations both in the US and international.

Responsibilities

Promotes design excellence throughout the projects in the studio

Implements the firms design process and encourage the use of available innovation tools to achieve the firms design and brand objectives

Works with PIC/ Studio Design Director to augment the project team throughout the project life being available beyond design for CD design intent interpretations and solutions as well as CA troubleshooting

Presents designs to clients, works to develop and maintain presentation skills

Is an industry expert in major building systems and conveys this knowledge to the team

Is an expert on code implications and requirements for several major building/occupancy types

Oversees the work of the Project Designers

Demonstrates knowledge of resources and materials and their application

Directs the production of design materials that meet project objectives, including functional concepts, images, schedules and budgets

Cultivates success through high level design and planning, facility requirements analysis, conceptual design and systems integration and teamwork

Takes responsibility for ensuring codes, regulations and industry standards are applied correctly

Possesses excellent programming and strategic planning skills

Promotes technical and professional excellence throughout the team

Maintains knowledge regarding industry trends, professional practice, regulatory and construction practice and issues

Recognizes needs and seeks out solutions for use of new technologies relating to project production and communications

Mentors and provides guidance to project team to achieve objectives

Mentors team members and supports individual development by providing coaching, feedback and reinforcement

Builds the firm’s practice by inspiring and motivating Project Designers

Qualifications

This role is an in-office position

Displays strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, and able to take projects through to completion

Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent

12+ years of experience in commercial design; aviation and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred

Revit proficiency

Interest in sustainable design

Professional registration

Strong communication skills and Flexible attitude

Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment

Demonstrated ability to translate design concepts and information into visualizations

Familiarity with current global design trends in one or more of Corgan’s sectors

A track record of public speaking in their area of expertise

Have a demonstrated track record of consistently creating (and leading teams doing) high quality work.

Pursues design awards and publications of work for which they were primary players

Demonstrated leaders, collaborators and mentors within their respective studio

Ongoing participation in outside design activities, groups, etc.

Proficient with Revit, Word, Excel and other graphics-related programs

Experience with design and implementation, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp or other 3-D modeling programs is preferred

Confident presentation ability

Enjoy travel

Base Salary Range: $120,000- $150,000 annually – Los Angeles locations only
