VP, Packaging Design
to lead and execute premium consumer packaging design with a strong bias toward execution. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on production, requiring the ability to navigate shifting priorities with confidence and uphold the highest standards across every touchpoint. This position is based in West Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid schedule: in-office Monday–Wednesday and remote Thursday–Friday. Responsibilities
Primary contributor to overall brand development; ensure product and packaging solutions reflect and elevate the brand identity, positioning, and consumer appeal. Develop and oversee type design systems rooted in classic typography with emphasis on Swiss Design to ensure brand consistency. Spearhead creation of memorable logos that capture brand identity and values. Direct the design and development of packaging that stands out on the shelf, aligns with brand positioning, and meets functional requirements. Oversee POS design initiatives to drive consumer engagement and conversion, leveraging structural engineering expertise to enhance functionality and visual impact. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, sales and digital teams to ensure brand and design integration at every consumer touchpoint. Provide guidance and leadership to internal design teams and external partners, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability. Stay current on design trends, consumer insights, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge. Maintain the highest standards of design excellence and consistency across all brand touchpoints. Oversee the design and user experience of brand websites to ensure digital touchpoints align with overall brand strategy. Qualifications
Portfolio required with application submission. 15 years of experience in brand and product design leadership roles. Industrial design engineering background strongly preferred. Proven ability to create and evolve brands across multiple categories; strong portfolio of logo design and brand systems. Deep understanding of type design principles and their application in brand systems. Experience developing POS materials that drive in-store success; extensive experience in consumer packaging design with focus on aesthetics and functionality. Proven track record leading brand and product development with simple, elegant, and consumer-centric design. Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams while remaining collaborative. Keen attention to detail; design consistency, brand integrity, and product quality across touchpoints. Strategic and creative problem solver with the ability to navigate complexity and bring clarity to ambiguity. Ability to balance big-picture vision with flawless execution from concept through launch. Awareness of production and manufacturing processes is a plus; space planning or architectural design and website design competency are also pluses. Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $325,000 - $375,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
